Gestión de Servicios de TI
Los procesos de negocio de las organizaciones actuales se apoyan una buena base de recursos de tecnología de la información para su desarrollo. El valor significativo y relevante que el uso de la información junto con la importante inversión que exigen los recursos para obtenerla determinan que todos los procesos relativos a la producción, administración y uso de servicios de Tecnologías de Información (TI) deben ser óptimamente gestionados y controlados por las empresas para asegurar la calidad de la información, soporte del cumplimiento de los objetivos del negocio, según el siguiente esquema:
- En las organizaciones existe una organización de TI que genera y provee los servicios de TI .
- Un grupo de clientes internos (usuarios) y externos demandan esos servicios y esperan su prestación oportuna y con calidad.
- Las relaciones y comunicaciones entre el proveedor de TI y los clientes de TI deben ser canalizadas a través de un sistema que garantice la optimización de los procesos de entrega y soporte de servicios a través de la consolidación de Gestión de Servicio TI.
Con este nuevo paradigma basado en el servicio acercarse a las organizaciones de cualquier tamaño, las empresas deben adoptar y adaptar estas mejores prácticas bajo un enfoque de «Calidad de Servicio» y oportunidad para el cambio del negocio con la aplicación de estándares actualizados como el sistema y la formación ITIL.
El mejoramiento contínuo de la cultura de servicio TI
El enfoque de ITI (y de la formación ITIL, por extensión) se basa en el valor, en el resultado de lo que ofrece IT por encima de las herramientas:
- ITIL define el servicio como “un medio para entregar valor a los clientes facilitándoles resultados que los clientes desean lograr sin la propiedad de costos y riesgos específicos”. En otras palabras, IT existe para satisfacer las necesidades de un cliente y no para inyectar políticas.
- En cuanto a la gestión del servicio, de acuerdo a ITIL, es la “Implementación y gestión de servicios de TI de calidad que satisfacen las necesidades del negocio”.
- Una vez que entendemos el servicio y la gestión del servicio, ITIL está compuesto de cinco áreas principales: Estrategia de servicio, diseño de servicio, transición de servicio, operación de servicio y mejora continua de servicio.
Pese al paso del tiempo, ITIL sigue más vivo que nunca, sólo necesita actualizarse e integrarse renovando el foco en los principios de la gestión y mejora continua de la calidad del servicio.
