La consultora de formación es la entidad adecuada para realizar el asesoramiento técnico en la implementación de centros o actividades formativas a empresas o organismos públicos y privados.
El primer paso es la detección de necesidades formativas de la empresa, esto es, el estudio de las necesidades formativas con las que cuenta el personal de la empresa
Modelos de detección
El proceso de detección de necesidades formativas suele ajustarse a uno de los siguientes modelos conceptuales::
- Modelo de rueda de la formación: Define las necesidades de formación como derivadas de las necesidades del negocio o empresa, la especificación de las necesidades formativas y cómo revolver eficientemente las necesidades. Para ello, se exploran factores ambientales influyentes y se identifican las necesidades de negocio y las necesidades formativas.
- Modelo de análisis del desempeño: Identifica y determina las causas de discrepancia entre el desempeño esperado y el que existe, o entre un empleado medio y otro modelo. La necesidad aparece si existe discrepancia de habilidades, conocimientos o aptitudes.
- Modelo de elementos de la organización: Utilizado para identificar lo que es y lo que debería ser la empresa en cuanto a resultados, este modelo relaciona las actividades y recursos, el desempeño individual, las consecuencias sociales y los resultados de la empresa con los resultados que la empresa consigue de forma interna y externa.
- Modelo de análisis anticipatorio de necesidades de formación: Identifica y analiza cambios futuros en la empresa, haciendo que los trabajadores se adapten a los cambios del entorno y a los próximos cambios que afecten a demandas de competencias. Para ello, debe vaticinar las competencias, tendencias del entorno, necesidades de cualificación y mercado de trabajo.
- Modelo organización-tarea-persona: Categoriza en niveles de análisis (organización, puesto y persona, además de las habilidades conocimientos y aptitudes) y plantea una serie de fases (el apoyo organizacional, el análisis organizacional, el análisis de requisitos, los componentes que forman parte del análisis del puesto o necesidades y análisis de la persona para derivar finalmente en los objetivos).
Medios a aplicar
Para detectar las necesidades de aprendizaje, la consultora de formación debe recoger información para, con posterioridad, analizar e interpretarla. Las herramientas principalmente empleadas son:
- Observación de la conducta en el trabajo del empleado y comparación con el patrón esperado. Solamente se recogen los datos del puesto de trabajo.
- Entrevistar individualmente a diferentes niveles según la persona o lugar para obtener información a través de un diálogo entre el entrevistador y el empleado o entre el entrevistador y el jefe directo del empleado para conocer los requisitos de formación que el considera para sus subordinados.
- Formular una lista de preguntas específicas a través de un cuestionario con el que reunir información referente a conocimientos, habilidades, opiniones sobre el trabajo que realiza una persona en la empresa.
- Establecer simulaciones que pongan a prueba las habilidades de los participantes para conocer en que podrían formarse.
- Describir el puesto específico de trabajo, conocer las funciones y los requisitos que debe satisfacer la persona que lo ocupa. De este modo, se comparan los requerimientos del puesto con lo que la persona encargada del mismo suele desarrollar.

Una vez que la consultora de formación detecta y establece exhaustivamente las necesidades formativas en el seno dela organización, se realiza un análisis y se planifica y desarrolla un plan de mejora que afectan de modo directo en la competitividad y retorno de inversión de la empresa, necesidades que una vez cubiertas mejoran los procesos dentro de la empresa y aumentan su competitividad en el mercado. Prioridades, duración, metodología, modalidad, presupuesto que tiene la empresa destinado a formación, el número de participantes en el curso…,
